Scott Thorpe Fly Fishing is a small, personalized guide service specializing in providing a unique outdoor experience, with each trip tailored to individual needs. My guiding is a direct reflection of my own personal angling journey and focuses equally on the fish and their environment.My passion is steelhead fishing in the tributary streams of Lake Superior and fly fishing for brown trout and brook trout in the spring creeks of southeastern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin.

One of the reasons my angling journey has focused on steelhead and trout is that I love the places that trout live, from the rushing cascades of the spate rivers of Minnesota’s north shore to the gentle meanderings of watercress rimmed spring creeks of the driftless region. Each destination will be one of the most beautiful places in the Midwest, and the fish are just an extra bonus.  After all, there is more to fishing than catching fish.

Each day of fishing will offer both casting and tactical instruction, depending upon the needs of the individual. I very much enjoy working with less experienced anglers, and require nothing more than a desire to learn and share.  For the expert angler, very challenging fish are easily arranged and hopefully with our combined knowledge, we can sort them out. Advanced individual casting instruction is available from my network of friends, including the renowned Bob Nasby.
